説 明 : Simple fun video showing cult SGI Indy machine, booting Irix 6.5 to login screen.---------------------specs of this system:Production started: ~1993/94.CPU: risc/Mips R5000SC 180Mhz (second cache)RAM: 256MbGFX: 24bit XL graphics,2D acc. 3D in software/CPU.NET: 100Mbit/via G130 phobos card.DISK: when recorded this video was DNES IBM (7200rpm) now seagate cheetah 73G 10K rpm. now the indy boot faster than showed.AUDIO: on/board + video in/outMouse/Kbd: standard PS2TheCam: (on top of the monitor) is a cult well known IndyCam with digital signal directly attached to the system via special connector.OS: Irix 6.5.22m it can run debian mips linux, but never tryed it/ using Irix is half fun of the story,performance.MON: well it was my first Flat trinitron sony tube ibm p76, and i hated to throw it away :(------------------------for what i use it ::: web serving of simple web pages and some real projects demonstration tasks... still in real production environment!!! because of energy low costs, silent work and flexible configurations... don`t forget - it`s ROCK SOLID UNIX in small size ZUPACOOL box, want more ?! ... ------------------------expected prices on eBay: from $5-$100+ depending on model/installed features. -------------------------bad thing: this machine has the MAC address stored in non volatile ram (dallas chip) that has the working life about 10 years. without the MAC the Indy system will not boot.
